The Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct tells judges their behavior should promote confidence in the judiciary. Judges must avoid impropriety, including the appearance of impropriety. They must apply the law impartially and fairly, be patient, dignified and courteous. They must follow the law, not make it up as they go along.
Judge Ramsey was charged with eight violations on Feb. 22, 2016. Ramsey’s eight counts cover behavior over more than three years, from the time she was elected in 2011 through 2014. Most of the allegations previously were made public in Review-Journal news stories.
It’s already known that she charged $12,000 to her city purchase card to pay personal legal expenses.
The recall committee turned in more than 2,700 petition signatures under deadline. The effort needed 1,984.
Justice Michael Douglas questioned if the second verification Ramsey viewed could make up for missing the first verification and sample selection, as the first verification lasted about five hours and the second about one hour.
The recall committee has accused Ramsey of taking an excessive number of days off, misappropriating city funds to pay for a private lawsuit and asking employees to perform personal errands on city time.
Ramsey has argued the recall is a political hit job by the city because she dismissed cases due to technical errors, depriving the city of revenue, and fought to preserve court funding that the city wanted to take for other uses.
The city has denied this and said it is not involved in the recall.

  1. We have to have oversight on judges and must preform annual audits on them and police. We can not have their friends (other judges) as the ones who are in charge of deciding punishments and reviews. They must be striped of any law licenses, forced to repay all taxpayers funds, not allowed to file bankruptcy and not be allowed to work ever again public sector job.

  2. A Government of Wolves!! America on the verge of destroying itself?the police state has arrived.
CHECK IF THEY HAVE ANY BLEMISHES ON THEIR RECORD–AND ONCE YOU HAVE THAT THEN SEARCH ON THE CIRCUIT COURT ACCESS TO SEE IF THERE IS A CRIMINAL FILE ON THEM–BECAUSE SOME DO–THEN FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE POLICE OR SHERIFF DEPARTMENTS.
WHICH is WHY WE NEED CITIZENS WATCHDOG GROUPS!
If you dont want that kind of job quit and find something you are more suited for!!???

  3. Any person elected to ANY office or position within the government can be recalled . . . PERIOD ! ! ! Most state judges are elected and are thus subject to recall. They are not appointed by the Governor or like the SCOTUS . . . appointed by the head of state, our President! This state apparently does not vote them in . . . but does have the 1912 ruling/law on the books already that makes recalling a judge approved!

  4. These last few years they're starting to come down on these crooked judges. So far I believe 14 federal judges have been removed from the bench. Not to mention a lot of township judges as well. They're not honoring their oaths.

  5. More examples of government waste and abuse of power. This is what happens when government officials are left unchecked. And government gets to big the system will collapse.

  6. The judge in Humboldt County that is sitting on my writ of habeas corpus should be removed from the bench.
Do your damn job and rule on my writ of habeas corpus.
Just how corrupt and dishonest can this judge be for refusing to do his job.
What is he worried about that makes him afraid of doing his job?
He is trying to cover up a murder that happened in Golconda, Nevada on Oct. 23, 2013.
Governor Sandoval and Senator Masto are guilty of causing John Robert Dellafiora to be murdered by the police in Humboldt County for not stopping at a drug checkpoint at Mote Exit 222.
That they violated my civil rights as a qualified individual with a disability in denying me equal access to the legal system in Humboldt County.
It is time I go to the news media about this judge refusing to do his job.

  7. Public election of judges is whacky if not insane. In Australia judges are appointed by governments with advice from various law councils. In other words judges are appointed on merit under the scrutiny of their peers.
